OAKVILLE & ST. EUSTACHE PARTNERSHIP STACHEVILLE CONTINUES

After a successful 2024/25 season, the partnership with Oakville Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and St. Eustache Minor Hockey Association will continue. The landscape of rural minor hockey is evolving rapidly, requiring unified efforts to ensure growth and excellence. With the rise of non-sanctioned hockey in the region and Central Plains remaining the smallest region in Manitoba, creative and collaborative approaches are essential to provide positive experiences for our members and continue developing players of all skills, abilities, and ages.

Oakville Minor Hockey Association (OMHA)  and St. Eustache Minor Hockey Association (STEMHA) will continue their mutually beneficial partnership aimed at advancing these goals.

What does this mean?

OMHA and STEMHA will:
- The joint hockey development committee to manage team formations, address member requests, and align hockey development opportunities for all players.
- Collaborate closely to form co-ed and female teams across age groups from U9 to U18.
- Optimize ice usage at Oakville and St. Eustache arenas.

- Create hockey development pathways tailored to players of all skill levels and ages, including tiered and double roster teams opportunities where available.

Our mission remains clear: to holistically develop young athletes. By pooling our resources and expertise, we are establishing a sustainable model that enhances player growth and strengthens community bonds.

We are stronger together!

For any questions, please contact your board members.

DUAL ROSTER OPPORTUNITIES & Regional AA Hockey

Hockey Canada & Hockey Manitoba are promoting an initiative to expand dual roster opportunities for all levels of players starting at U11. As Hockey Manitoba and Central Plains work together to determine what that means and how it works, STEMHA Board will share the information with everyone. Registration for dual roster teams will be open shortly and ran through Central Plains.

AA Hockey is continuing to expand as well for male and female programs in CP. If you are planning to try out for AA13 (Coed or Female) or AA15 (Coed), players are asked to first register with STEMHA as the home association and they will be released and refunded if they make those teams.

EARLY SEASON START

Ice times have been booked at the Warren Arena & Portage for STEMHA players U7 to U18. This will allow everyone to get back on the ice sooner than we usually would in the St. Eustache Arena. Practices will begin early September. Your manager/coach will update you with dates and times once teams are formed.

Early ice-times are included in your regular season fees.

Embedded in these fees are fees paid directly to Hockey Manitoba and Hockey Canada. Hockey Manitoba raised their fees by $11 to $12 per players, and therefore STEMHA has increased fees for all players to continue to cover those costs. Each fee was raised by $15 total this year.  All fees are paid online via Paysafe by Netbanx. This is a secure service used by many online sports registration sites. Should payment by cheque be required, please contact stemharegistrar@gmail.com to make arrangements.

Fundraising fees will not be collected for the 2025-2026 season and fundraising packages will not be dispersed.

REFUND POLICY

Full refunds will be granted should a player withdraw prior to October 1st for any reason. A 50% refund will be granted if a player withdraws prior to November 30th.  Withdrawal on or after December 1st will not result in any refund. Player withdrawal's must be submitted in writing to the registrar prior to the above scheduled dates. Please allow up to two weeks for refund approval, and an additional two weeks for processing.

Fundraising fees (if collected) will not be refunded. Tournament fees (if collected) will not be refunded. Should a player be asked to leave a team for any reason, a refund will not be issued.

We understand that exceptions may occur and will review each request on a case-by-case basis.

If due to circumstances outside the control of STEMHA, the season does not begin or is cancelled at any point, the STEMHA Board of Directors may change the refund policy and will provide information at that time. Full fees will be collected from all players, as we will do our best to maximize ice opportunities within the Public Health regulations at the time. Any refunds will be distributed once the hockey season is complete.

CALL FOR COACHES

If you are interested in coaching for the 2025-2026 season, please fill out the Coach Application form. This is for all head coaches and assistant coaches.

STEMHA has a coach selection process to ensure quality coaches are selected in a fair and consistent manner.

Please submit your coach application ASAP to stemharegistrar@gmail.com

Please review the Coach ApplicationSelection ProcessVolunteer LetterFair Play Code of Conduct, and St. Eustache Arena Code of Conduct. These can be downloaded from our website:  www.stemha.ca

Note: Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks must be done every two years for all volunteer coaches. Applicants may provide completed checks with application or commit to providing this in a timely manner once selected. The RCMP is no longer accepting these forms via email. They will need to be completed in person.

Thank you to all those who apply. STEMHA recognizes and appreciates the dedication and hours that coaches put into developing our players and ensuring they have fun!

FEMALE HOCKEY

Hockey Manitoba is focused on expanding female hockey within the province. STEMHA is excited to build on this again during the 2025-2026 season.  Based on our forecasted numbers working with Oakville, we may have the potential to form an all-female team at the U9, U11, U13 and U15 levels this year!  There are a growing number of programs for girls in hockey and we’re excited for STEMHA’s female athletes to be a part of it.
