We are excited to get the season started and are dedicated to working very hard to ensure it is a positive experience for players, parents, and fans.
Our association is run by volunteers, and we are always looking for more help throughout the year. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to any of the board members listed above.
Registration is now open for the 2024-2025 Hockey Season. Early bird registration closes July 31st.
Please visit https://page.hockeycanada.ca/page/hc/hm/regional-hockey/central-plains/st-eustache-minor-hockey to begin your registration. If you are new to hockey, you will need to create a new parent account, and from there you can link all members of your family. Once you are logged in and have linked all family members, you may proceed to registering.
OMHA & STEMHA PARTNERSHIP
The landscape of rural minor hockey is evolving rapidly, requiring unified efforts to ensure growth, sustainability, and excellence. With the rise of non-sanctioned hockey in the region and Central Plains remaining the smallest region in Manitoba, creative and collaborative approaches are essential to provide positive experiences for our members and continue developing players of all skills, abilities, and ages.
Oakville Minor Hockey Association and St. Eustache Minor Hockey Association are pleased to announce a mutually beneficial partnership aimed at advancing these goals. At the forefront of this transformation are initiatives to increase female hockey participation, optimize ice time allocation, and enhance player development across the board. While OMHA and STEMHA have previously collaborated on teams, including the recent U13 Female Wolverines program, this new partnership goes beyond individual teams to benefit both associations.
What does this mean?
OMHA and STEMHA will:
- Establish a joint hockey development committee to manage team formations, address member requests, and align hockey development opportunities for all players.
- Collaborate closely to form co-ed and female teams across age groups from U9 to U18.
- Optimize ice usage at Oakville and St. Eustache arenas.
- Create hockey development pathways tailored to players of all skill levels and ages, including tiered and double roster teams opportunities where available.
As we embark on this collaborative journey, our mission remains clear: to holistically develop young athletes. By pooling our resources and expertise, we are establishing a sustainable model that enhances player growth and strengthens community bonds.
We are stronger together!
For any questions, please contact your board members.
EARLY SEASON START
Ice times have been booked at the Warren Arena for STEMHA players U7 to U15. This will allow everyone to get back on the ice sooner than we usually would in the St. Eustache Arena. Practices will begin the weekend of September 14 and 15. Your manager/coach will update you with dates and times once teams are formed. If a U18 team is formed early enough, STEMHA will look at booking early ice for them as well.
Warren ice-times are included in your regular season fees.
CALL FOR COACHES
If you are interested in coaching for the 2024-2025 season, please fill out the Coach Application form. This is for all head coaches and assistant coaches.
STEMHA has a coach selection process to ensure quality coaches are selected in a fair and consistent manner.
Please submit your coach application ASAP to Registrar@STEMHA.ca
Please review the Coach Application, Selection Process, Volunteer Letter, Fair Play Code of Conduct, and St. Eustache Arena Code of Conduct. These can be downloaded from our website: www.stemha.ca
Note: Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks must be done every two years for all volunteer coaches. Applicants may provide completed checks with application or commit to providing this in a timely manner once selected. The RCMP is no longer accepting these forms via email. They will need to be completed in person.
Thank you to all those who apply. STEMHA recognizes and appreciates the dedication and hours that coaches put into developing our players and ensuring they have fun!
FEMALE HOCKEY
Hockey Manitoba is focused on expanding female hockey within the province. STEMHA is excited to build on this again during the 2024-2025 season. Based on our forecasted numbers working with Oakville, we may have the potential to form an all-female team at the U9, U11, and U13 levels this year! There are a growing number of programs for girls in hockey and we’re excited for STEMHA’s female athletes to be a part of it. The EFML League folded after the 2023-2024 season. We are exploring all our options and will confirm our landing spot in the near future.

If you are new to St. Eustache Hockey, please do not hesitate to ask us any questions you may have. We encourage new players at all skill and age levels!!
We are open to feedback and suggestions! Please share your ideas with us and we'll be sure to discuss at a future board meeting. All members are welcome to attend board meetings and meeting dates will be posted on the website www.stemha.ca.

Q14: Is financial assistance available?
KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers to participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba provides grants of up to $300 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.
Funding is administered by KidSport Manitoba's Regional Offices. Information and application can be found on their website: https://kidsportcanada.ca/manitoba/south/apply-for-a-grant/
The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is a $1 million fund dedicated to helping young Canadians return to hockey during and after COVID-19. It will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants registered with a sanctioned Hockey Canada association.
Visit their website for more info: https://assistfund.hockeycanadafoundation.ca/en/index.html
PLEASE NOTE: STEMHA Fees are due as per schedule. If financial assistance or funding is received, STEMHA will apply to account and issue credit/refund as necessary.
Q15: Do I need to complete Respect in Sport for Parents?
In order for a child to be eligible to play on a sanctioned Hockey Manitoba team this online course must be completed by at least one parent or legal guardian of any minor hockey player before November 1, 2022. If parents have previously completed, you are not required to complete again. This online program only takes about 1 hour to complete, and the cost is $12 plus GST. STEMHA does not receive any money from this program as it is mandated through Hockey Manitoba. If you do not take the course by November 1, 2021, your player(s) will not be allowed on the ice. Please make sure to add all of your children (who will be registering for hockey) to your RIS Parent Program profile. Details and link to Respect in Sport for Parents can be found on www.stemha.ca or Hockey Manitoba’s website.
Q16: Do I need to register with STEMHA if player is trying out for a U15 Regional Team?
Yes. STEMHA is requesting that all U15 players who wish to try-out for the regional U15 team register with St. Eustache by July 31st. This will allow for the try-outs as well as for STEMHA to determine if a U15 team is possible. If the U15 player makes the regional team, they will be released. If the player does not try-out or does not make the regional team, they are to play on St. Eustache U15 house team. In the likely event a St. Eustache U15 team is not formed, players will be released to their closest team as per Hockey Manitoba residency regulations.
The HCR 3.0 site requires a minimum fee that covers the Hockey MB fees. Please choose the full payment option, rather than payment plan. These fees will be refunded, and full fees can be made to the team where the player will play the season.
