Oakville & St. Eustache Partnership - Stacheville Continues
The partnership between Oakville Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and St. Eustache Minor Hockey Association (STEMHA) will continue for the 2026-2027 season.
The landscape of rural minor hockey continues to evolve, requiring unified efforts to support growth, player development, and positive hockey experiences. With the rise of non-sanctioned hockey in the region and Central Plains remaining one of the smallest regions in Manitoba, creative and collaborative approaches are essential to support players of all skill levels, abilities, and ages.
OMHA and STEMHA will continue their mutually beneficial partnership aimed at advancing these goals.
What does this mean?
- The joint Hockey Development Committee will manage team formation, review member requests, and align hockey development opportunities for all players.
- OMHA and STEMHA will work together to form co-ed and female teams across age groups from U9 to U18, where numbers support.
- Both associations will continue to optimize ice usage at the Oakville and St. Eustache arenas.
- The partnership will support development pathways tailored to players of all skill levels and ages, including tiered and dual-roster opportunities where available.
Our mission remains clear: to holistically develop young athletes. By pooling our resources and expertise, we are establishing a sustainable model that enhances player growth and strengthens community bonds.
We are stronger together!
For any questions, please contact your board members.
Dual Roster Opportunities & Regional AA Hockey
Hockey Canada and Hockey Manitoba continue to promote expanded dual roster opportunities beginning at U11.
Central Plains will be providing direction on the registration process and details once finalized. STEMHA will share this information with members as soon as it is available. Please stay tuned.
Regional AA hockey continues to expand across Central Plains for both male and female programs. Players planning to try out for U13 AA (co-ed or female), U15 AA (co-ed), or U15 AAA Female are asked to first register with STEMHA as their home association. If a player makes one of those teams, STEMHA will process the applicable release/refund in accordance with the confirmed registration direction.
For this season, the U13 AA Female team is expected to operate as a dual-roster team. This means players would remain rostered with both the Wolverines and the Central Plains team. Further details will follow once registration direction is confirmed.
Early Season Start
Ice times have been booked at the Warren Arena and Portage for STEMHA players from U7 to U18. This will allow players to get back on the ice sooner than we usually would at the St. Eustache Arena.
Practices will begin in early September. Team managers and coaches will provide dates and times once teams are formed.
Early ice times are included in regular season fees.
Registration Fee Structure
After two years without an increase, registration fees will increase this year. Referee costs, mileage, utilities, and other operating expenses continue to rise for our Association. In addition, we are thrilled to have a brand-new ice plant this fall. Those ice plant funds were raised outside of registration fees. However, the Board felt it was prudent to adjust fees to ensure we can continue covering costs and offering quality programming to all members.

Call for Coaches
If you are interested in coaching for the 2026-2027 season, please fill out the Coach Application form. This applies to all head coaches and assistant coaches.
STEMHA has a coach selection process to ensure quality coaches are selected in a fair and consistent manner.
Please submit your coach application as soon as possible to stemharegistrar@gmail.com.
Please review the Coach Application, Selection Process, Volunteer Letter, Fair Play Code of Conduct, and St. Eustache Arena Code of Conduct. These can be downloaded from our website at www.stemha.ca.
Note: Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks must be completed every two years for all volunteer coaches. Applicants may provide completed checks with their application or commit to providing them in a timely manner once selected.
Thank you to all those who apply. STEMHA recognizes and appreciates the dedication and hours that coaches put into developing our players and ensuring they have fun.
Female Hockey
Hockey Manitoba remains focused on expanding female hockey within the province. STEMHA is excited to build on this again during the 2026-2027 season.
Based on our forecasted numbers and our work with Oakville, we may have the potential to form all-female teams at the U9, U11, U13, and U15 levels this year. There are a growing number of programs for girls in hockey, and we are excited for STEMHA female athletes to be part of that growth.
