We are excited to get the season started and are dedicated to working very hard to ensure it is a positive experience for players, parents, and fans.

Our association is run by volunteers, and we are always looking for more help throughout the year. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to any of the board members listed above.

Registration is now open!

Registration is now open for the 2023-2024 Hockey Season. Registration closes July 31st.  Late fees will be assessed after that date. STEMHA reserves the right to cap roster sizes.

Please visit www.stemha.ca or https://register.hockeycanada.ca/home to begin your registration. If you are new to hockey, you will need to create a new parent account, and from there you can link all members of your family. Once you are logged in and have linked all family members, you may proceed to registering.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS

STEMHA is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 2nd Annual STEMHA Golf Tournament on  September 10th @ Scotswood Links in Elm Creek. More details to follow soon. STEMHA will also be hosting a Halloween Social on Saturday, October 28th in St. Francois. If you are interested in volunteering at either event,  please reach out to Amber Dyck – fundraising@stemha.ca

EARLY SEASON START

Ice times have been booked at the Warren Arena for STEMHA players U7 to U15. This will allow everyone to get back on the ice sooner than we usually would in the St. Eustache Arena. Practices will begin the week of September 11th. The U9-U15 teams will have approximately 5 ice times in September. The U7 teams will have 2 skates later in September. Your manager/coach will update you with dates and times once teams are formed. If a U18 team is formed early enough, STEMHA will look at booking early ice for them as well.

Warren ice-times are included in your regular season fees.

CALL FOR COACHES

If you are interested in coaching for the 2023-2024 season, please fill out the Coach Application form. This is for all head coaches and assistant coaches.

STEMHA has a coach selection process to ensure quality coaches are selected in a fair and consistent manner.

Please submit your coach application ASAP to Registrar@STEMHA.ca

Please review the Coach ApplicationSelection ProcessVolunteer LetterFair Play Code of Conduct, and St. Eustache Arena Code of Conduct. These can be downloaded from our website:  www.stemha.ca

Note: Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks must be done every two years for all volunteer coaches. Applicants may provide completed checks with application or commit to providing this in a timely manner once selected. Both checks can be completed via e-mail by sending your completed forms, photos of 2 pieces of ID and the attached volunteer letter to RCMP.DHeadingley-DHeadingley.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

Thank you to all those who apply. STEMHA recognizes and appreciates the dedication and hours that coaches put into developing our players and ensuring they have fun!

FEMALE HOCKEY

Hockey Manitoba is focused on expanding female hockey within the province. Based on the success of our U9 Female and U11 Female teams last season, STEMHA is excited to build on this again during the 2023-2024 season.  Based on our forecasted numbers, we should have the opportunity to form an all-girls team at the U9, U11, and U13 levels this year!  There are a growing number of programs for girls in hockey and we’re excited for STEMHA’s female athletes to be a part of it. Once again, our female teams will be playing in the Eastern Manitoba Female Hockey League. More information is available on their website: https://www.emfhl.com/

A. Yes, it is mandatory in the Hockey Canada system to select a position. However, for   all age groups, the position selected will have no bearing on the team they play on during the year or their on-ice play.

Q11. How do I update our personal information? (Address; contact names & numbers etc.)

A. The online registration is each player’s Hockey Canada membership ID number and profile. Within each player’s ID/profile there are many information areas; phone; address; guardian; etc.. Many of these fields are mandatory and the system will not let you proceed without entering it. Updates can be made from within your user account in each individual’s profile.

**It will be each parent(s) responsibility to ensure all the information is current and updated. This information is used by STEMHA, Hockey Manitoba, and Hockey Canada for important team contacts and notifications***

Q12. Is the registration site secure?

A. Yes. It uses a secure connection for online registration and payments.

Q13. Who has my Credit Card info?

A. Hockey Canada and STEMHA do not store or have access to any credit card information provided for payments. Online payments are processed by our payment provider, Paysafe by NetBanx which is one of two merchants approved by Hockey Canada. Payment will show on your statement as “St. Eustache Hockey 2048643054”

Q14: Is financial assistance available?

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers to participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba provides grants of up to $300 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.

Funding is administered by KidSport Manitoba's Regional Offices. Information and application can be found on their website: https://kidsportcanada.ca/manitoba/south/apply-for-a-grant/

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is a $1 million fund dedicated to helping young Canadians return to hockey during and after COVID-19. It will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants registered with a sanctioned Hockey Canada association.

Visit their website for more info: https://assistfund.hockeycanadafoundation.ca/en/index.html

PLEASE NOTE: STEMHA Fees are due as per schedule. If financial assistance or funding is received, STEMHA will apply to account and issue credit/refund as necessary.

Q15: Do I need to complete Respect in Sport for Parents?

In order for a child to be eligible to play on a sanctioned Hockey Manitoba team this online course must be completed by at least one parent or legal guardian of any minor hockey player before November 1, 2022. If parents have previously completed, you are not required to complete again. This online program only takes about 1 hour to complete, and the cost is $12 plus GST. STEMHA does not receive any money from this program as it is mandated through Hockey Manitoba. If you do not take the course by November 1, 2021, your player(s) will not be allowed on the ice. Please make sure to add all of your children (who will be registering for hockey) to your RIS Parent Program profile. Details and link to Respect in Sport for Parents can be found on www.stemha.ca or Hockey Manitoba’s website.

Q16: Do I need to register with STEMHA if player is trying out for a U15 Regional Team?

Yes. STEMHA is requesting that all U15 players who wish to try-out for the regional U15 team register with St. Eustache by July 31st. This will allow for the try-outs as well as for STEMHA to determine if a U15 team is possible. If the U15 player makes the regional team, they will be released. If the player does not try-out or does not make the regional team, they are to play on St. Eustache U15 house team.

The HCR 3.0 site requires a minimum fee that covers the Hockey MB fees. Please choose the full payment option, rather than payment plan. These fees will be refunded, and full fees can be made to the team where the player will play the season.
